Namoowolf Downs Review From Local Music Mag Space Ship News
Next in line were the charming lads of NAMOOWOLF DOWNS. This local folk band really does produce some magical sounds; the phrase used by one audience member to describe the group’s opening song (of guitar, vocals and drums) was a “tame, acoustic acid trip”. Every component of the band sat really nicely together. The growing audience sat, captivated by front man Andrew Strika – his crystal clear vocals never missed a note, delivering each song better than the last. Drummer Timothing Battrezz utilized all parts of the drum kit, resulting in a very percussive and unusual sound, which helped to bring out a curious element of the group’s sound. Bassist of the night Ben McDonald effectively filled out the songs, as did second guitarist Trim Trammer, who added some light solos and characteristic twangs. If hypnotizing the audience is what Namoowolf Downs is aiming for, then it definitely succeeded. The band’s warm stage presence was felt throughout the room. A very heartening experience.
